Tour Program
Nicosia – Barbarism Museum – Walled City – Selimiye Mosque – Arasta Bazaar – Arab Ahmet Quarter

Following our arrival at Ercan Airport, we meet our guide and transfer vehicle and begin our tour. After a short briefing at the airport, we depart for Nicosia, the capital of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. The distance between Ercan Airport and Nicosia city center is approximately 25 kilometers, and our journey takes an average of 30 minutes. Along the way, we learn from our guide about Cyprus’s recent history and island culture before arriving in Nicosia.

We begin our tour with the Barbarism Museum, which bears witness to the island’s recent history. This house, where the family of Medical Major Nihat İlhan lost their lives during the events of 1963, known in history as “Bloody Christmas,” is now open to visitors as a museum. After visiting the museum accompanied by our guide’s explanations, we see the Green Line, which divides Nicosia in two, panoramically.

We continue our tour by proceeding to the Walled City area, where Nicosia’s historic texture is felt at its best. We get off our vehicle at the monumental Kyrenia Gate and begin our walking tour. During our walk inside the walls, we see the Cyprus Turkish History, Culture and National Struggle Museum, Samanbahçe Houses, Sarayönü Square and the Obelisk. We then visit the Selimiye Mosque, one of Nicosia’s most magnificent buildings, where Gothic and Ottoman architecture can be seen together.

In the final part of our tour, we take a walk through Arasta Bazaar, which dates from the Ottoman period to the present day, and see the Lokmacı Border Gate, which connects the northern and southern parts of Nicosia. After a short period of free time, we conclude the day’s program and depart for our hotel, where we will stay overnight.

Guests who do not participate in the optional tour may stay at the hotel and enjoy the day.

After having breakfast at the hotel in the morning, we depart for Kyrenia. Our approximately 40-kilometer journey takes an average of 1 hour. During this pleasant journey, which takes us along the foothills of the Five Finger Mountains, our guide provides information about the history of Cyprus and Kyrenia.

After arriving in Kyrenia, our first stop is the Blue Mansion, one of the most interesting structures on the island. Attracting attention with its location, architecture, and mysterious story, this mansion is one of the most intriguing structures in Cyprus. During our visit, our guide also provides information about the drinking water project, which brings water via underwater pipes from the Anamur coast of Türkiye, as well as the Geçitköy Dam.

After our visit, we head to the Karaoğlanoğlu Region, where the 1974 Cyprus Peace Operation took place. Here, we have the opportunity to see the traces of the Cyprus Peace Operation firsthand by visiting the Peace and Freedom Museum, Ship Museum, Veteran Helicopter, Open-Air Museum, and Martyrdom.

Continuing our tour, we go to Bellapais Monastery, located on the foothills of the Five Finger Mountains and enchanting with its Gothic architecture. The view of Kyrenia from the monastery offers a unique opportunity for photography enthusiasts.

After our visit, we proceed to Kyrenia city center. First, we have a short period of free time at the Historic Kyrenia Bazaar. Then, we visit the Ancient Kyrenia Harbor, regarded as one of the most beautiful harbors in the Mediterranean, and the Kyrenia Castle located right next to it.
